Yes... this is a house that General Aung San used to work in during war....
Despite knowing its a tourist hot spot, this place does so much right. Authentic and delicious food, friendly staff, fun and historic atmosphere, and piano with live singer if you dine at the right time.
As a first time traveller in this city, House of Memories is one of the bucket list. The have many Burmese and some Thai and international selection menu from Seafoods to meat dishes. The coriander seafood was really good, best with jasmine rice. The pineapple juice, however was not very good. Staffs were all very attentive, efficient and polite.
Very good food, not too expensive. Very friendly staff. Loved the curries!
Super bad attitude when I ask of payment method of cash and credit card. The staff said they do take credit card but insisted if I have cash then check be paid in cash. They should receive only 0.3 star for his bad attitude despite every other thing. Would not recommend Yangon has so many other nicer options.
This historic building is worth visiting in its own right. The food is an added delight. Great cocktails and mocktails too.
HOM has a room with a desk, a typewriter and some photos to "showcase" General Aung San's work area. That's about it. The colonial-era house is beautiful. Food is nothing special, pretty standard Burmese-Thai-Chinese-European jack-of-all. There is a unisex toilet on the second floor which gave me the goosebumps when I used it. Creepy.
Good restaurant in an old Villa Bath. There is a room where the late General Aung San, the Freedom flighter for Burma used as an office. The food is good as well as the service.
Good food and atmosphere.
Enjoyed a great lunch here. Everything from the food, service and you also get a bit of history about the building.
Great place for making memories, nice food.
Cozy place to have lunch and be told about the back story of General's house. The traditional Burmese food is so great, kind of pricy but I still think it is reasonable price for everything which was served
Historic property with excellent service and authentic Burmese food
nice foods in a historic placr
Great place of interest. Government house turned into restaurant. Very colonial. Excellent food. A must visit.
A historic place turned into a restaurant. Food is nice and staff are attentive. I was recommended to try the tea leaf salad. It’s tea leaf in a salad which is nice and interesting. Go try it. Huge servings too.
Historical place of General Aung San's office.
Nice food with reasonable price.
Good place of historical general aung san office.
Place for chillex and good food
That is one of historic Restaurant in Yangon. You can get nice food and fresh juce in this restaurant. It has a nice bar as well. Not available for wheelchairs. Car park is available for small vehicle only.
Historical place, its like having food in a museum. Very tasty food, a must go for Yangon visitors
Its a historic landmark and a must visit place in Yangon. The food is quite good and authentic.
Myanmar food are really nice and good presentaion. Foreigner shouldn't miss. Try Myanmar food.
Last night in Yangon stop. Almost had the place to myself. Quiet dinner. Historic building. Food was alright. Not too memorable.
Amazing ambience with lot of history.. food was average
Authentic food with Myanmar Flavours. We ordered the pickled tea salad, mango pork, pumpkin curry, lentil rice and mint leaf rice. The rice were very fragrant - must orderPickled tea salad tasted very nutty. A bit salty but overall it was good - will order againThe mango pork (not actual name) was tender - not bad. Might try something else during my next visit though Pumpkin curry was okay - will try something else insteadWe spent $21 (table for 2)
Good for memory and food. But expensive.
An exotic place for dining in Yangon, food is not bad
Good food, expensive but incredible historical colonial house with bogyoke aung saw desk on first floor.
Nice and beautiful Myanmar food restaurant in the historic house.
An historic place in a nice quiet spot. Food is acceptable with the seabass with soy and sprinkle of chilli a delight. The mutton dish was tough as rock and 3/4 was left on the table at the end of the night. Good spot for one time only for its historical significance.
You go there for beautiful Myanmar and Inidan dinning under very historic ambience
One of my favourite restaurants in Yangon and a historic building. The food is good too and there is a good selection of cocktails. Well worth searching out for a nice pleasant dinner
Atmosphere was nice, gave you plenty of food with each dish ordered. Didn't like the pumpkin soup. Thought it would he a creamed soup but it was just a bowl of broth with pieces of pumpkin in it. Tasted like something you should eat when your sick. Everything else that everyone had was good.
Great authentic Burmese food. The place has great ambience and history memories. It was Aung San office in the past. The curry pork, steam fish and seafood dishes were excellent 😍 The staff were very friendly too. Full of locals and tourists. It is a worth dinner place to visit and relax. However, the toilet is a bit creepy at night with an old bath tub in there 😱
One of the best Myanmar restaurant in Yangon. Clean, cozy and with perfect service. The cuisine is perfect.
Great authentic place! Both food and atmosphere were impressive. Be sure to try pickled green tea. Cocktails were good, as well.
They closed their kitchen at 10:20pm but they are listed as open until 11:30pm. Not helpful at all when asked for recommendations of places still open.
I tasted traditional food and it was good
Good taste! But too hot!! (Temperature)
Nice place but overrated and overpricedWe had beef curry (way too cooked and hard), chicken salad (pretty unremarkable) and 2 cocktails (ok)We expected music, since it’s a piano bar, but nothing of that.We had much better experience in street restaurants in Myanmar for 1/4th of the price. Hot water was charged (!) with illustrate how touristic places drift toward money traps.
Super cool place to chill...🔥🔥🔥
An old place turn into excellent restaurant
One of the best restaurant for tourists. Delicious Myanmar and international food.Service is nice and the rooms are beautiful and clean. That house was used as an office by General Aung San, our Independence leader, during the second world war.
Food was good, nice old decor and some history in the menu. Good place to check out, food is good too.
beautiful old housefood is good but service not so good.nice place to relax and drink
Nice Myanmar cuisine in a colonial style house where use to be General Aung Sun's office
Excellent Restaurant. Great staff.
Really good ambience and excellent food. The museum is interesting but somewhat limited.
